Our Approach

TimeBack teaches time management through practical activities and peer discussion, helping young people connect everyday choices with their goals.

Teaching principles

Hands-on participation

Students work through activities and demonstrations, then connect what they observe to decisions about their own time.

Adaptation to the group and setting

Our leaders adapt the content and pace to the group’s age, interests and setting. Drop-in activities and dedicated sessions use different formats.

Personal peer connection

Leaders ask about students’ goals and challenges, share relevant experience and make space for individual questions. Participants’ responses shape the discussion.

Curriculum areas

The focus of each workshop reflects the group’s needs and interests.

Priorities and goals

Identify personal priorities, distinguish immediate demands from longer-term goals and decide where to direct time.

Attention and focus

Recognize distractions and patterns in concentration. Explore techniques and environments that support focused work.

Planning and balance

Build realistic plans for school, personal interests and rest. Review those plans and adjust as commitments change.

Example session

Setting priorities

Middle and high school

Learning objectiveIdentify personal priorities and use them to guide everyday decisions.

  1. Jar game

A jar demonstration makes competing priorities visible. Students discuss what deserves space in their day.

  2. Peer-to-peer showcase

Leaders share examples from their own routines and ask participants about their goals and habits. The group compares approaches to managing time.

  3. Q&A

Participants bring their own questions about school, workload and competing commitments. Leaders help them consider approaches that fit their circumstances.
